Hey folks, another PCS move is in the horizon but want to ask what you would do.

I have a ton of electronics (laptops, ipods, tablets, etc.) to include jewelry and such but I am weary of listing all of it individually due to past stuff being stolen by movers.

Would you just put all your stuff in a lock box and mark it electronics or list all on high value sheet?

Mail it to CONUS and claim it on your PCS voucher.

Thanks, I asked the German speaking HHG Outbound employee about this but she was not helpful.

Now just need a reg for that. I just don't want the carrier to know all that I have in a box by listing on the high value sheet, seems I would make the thief's job easier.

I think you should make an itemized electronics list with serial numbers and other identifying numbers and take pictures of all the items. That way if you come back and all of your stuff is stolen, the company has to pay for all that is lost. I wouldnt suggest mailing it because it is easier for a thief to steal something out of a box of electronics as opposed to a sealed crate with electronics. I have heard the horror stories. good luck and I hope you will look into personal property insurance
