Where do you get your coupons? We went to the Airman Family Readiness Center that I read about on here and they looked at us like we were crazy and told us they weren't there. But, I was just wondering if there was anywhere else around here or any other way to get coupons.
If you want a lot of coupons, PM me. There is a group of ladies in the states that will send you a huge envelope of coupons about once a month. If you have babies, they'll also send an extra envelope of just baby products- like diapers, formula, wipes, baby food, etc
My husband is he coupon king!! He will stand at the entrance to the commissary for hours siftin thru the coupons!! He's asked family back home to send him coupons and he's even shot an email to a newspaper back home asking if they would send him his expired coupons!! He is so bent on deals and saving money, that if he sees someone in the bx/comm gettin an item that cost more he will come up and tell you, you could get a better deal by buying x.... Then proceed to give you a coupon. He calls friends here when something is on sale and they "pay" him to take it. I always joke he should go on the extreme coupon show!!! He's saved up to $50 at one time?? Could me more.... I don't keep track. Lol!!!
I save a bit. I have a big three ring binder and have plastic baseball card sheets where I put coupons.
I only buy things that we use. But we go through lots of diapers, wipes, paper towels since we have twin toddlers.
I stock up when things are on sale and I have a coupon.
For example: we use Pampers baby dry diapers. The small packs are usually $14 at the commissary. They're now $11 on sale. I have a bunch of $1.50 off coupons. I stocked up!
Now these packs of diapers are $10 a pack and makes them even cheaper than buying the big boxes. I try to buy enough to last me until they go on sale again.
I go in cycles- sometimes I'm really hardcore about couponing. Then I get burnt out and hardly use them.
i get mine sent from the ladies in the states. they come once a month and ar awesome. i save a lot on my cleaning stuff as i like to keep my stock on hand so i dont run out.
Wow!! Lucky you! The most I've saved is $20. The ladies in the states are awesome! I always have way more than I can use. Have you tried going to the manufacturer's site? Sometimes they have printable coupons and let you sign up for their mailing list. I use couponmom.com for printable coupons, too.
LOVE coupons, we get ours from operation coupons in the states.. HUGE envelope every month and I go through them, then hand them to another friend, who hands them on.. finally the rest get dropped at the commissary.. I did a coupon only shop last Sunday and saved $62 off my bill.. I only buy things we use, granted not all this stuff we'll use right away, but now I have stock.. my biggest saving is no doubt on diapers and wipes and always stock up and use my coupons during a sale..!
the spangdahlem family center gives them out . all u have to do is ask for them. i know its a drive but i get them by the box full and its not a small box . i saved 70 dollars last time at the store .
Here is the email she sent me to give you an idea of info she needs. They send TONS of coupons and are always looking for new families to send them to........ "Hi, We would be delighted to send coupons to you every two weeks. We ask the following:
When you receive your shipment, send me a quick "I got it" email so I know it arrived safely. Take all the coupons you want, then distribute the rest either in a community/commissary coupon bin or give away to friends. We want to make sure every coupon is used! Our many volunteer clippers love to hear about your successful shopping trips, so when you save $$$$ using the coupons, if you will include that info in your email, I will be sure all the "clippers" hear about it. It really encourages them to know that the coupons are REALLY making a difference.
I need you to send me an email with the following information: Your name and mailing address
The town you're stationed at
Your estimated rotation date to come back to the states
Type out your email address
Tell me if you have any babies as we do a special "baby envelope" stuffed full of diaper, wipes etc coupons.
Looking forward to your email.
It is an honor for us to send these coupons to you.
Tell me the formula you are using and I'll watch out for those coupons, as well."
You can also register at www.mypoints.com and www.swagbucks.com & print out coupons. With these sites you print out the coupons you want to use & when you use them you earn points to redeem for gift cards.
If you register at either of these sites please use me as a referral. :)
I also have my family send coupons from the states. My mom collects them from friends & family and sends them to me. Right now I have 2 big binders full of coupons, not completely finished organizing yet & will probably have to expand to a 3rd binder.
I saved 51% at the commissary the other day. I had gone a couple days before & took note on items that were on sale then came home & went through my coupons & loaded up. I ended up with a lot of shampoo, conditioner, styling products, air fresheners, toothpaste, frozen meals & veggies, fruit & candy. The total came out to over $90, but I paid less than $50.
I only wish that the commissary had a sales paper, that would help a lot.
I've been watching extreme couponing, does anyone know if the commissary does "rain-checking"? It is when there is a sale on the item but they run out of stock so the store writes you a credit for when they get it back in stock but at the sale price.
What about letting you use 2 coupons for one product? Like a store coupon + manufacturer coupon? I'm new to the coupon thing but I think it could really help save money and we would like to save up for expanding the family in the next few years, hopefully.
