We don't have a lot of storage space and I am wondering something....

Where do you store all of your shoes? I purchased one of these:

0

And have been stacking them on there but that looks really bad and some are falling off and they really can't hold all my shoes....

HELP!

Oh BTW, my hubby's advice was to get a table at the flea market and sell them. How preposterous is that?! lol

your hubby is funny! I have the same problem! I don't like the shoe-schranks (sp?) they take alot of space and only fit a few pairs of shoes.

nukatie81 --- 11 years ago -

They have shoe closets. They have shelves in there for all of your shoes. Flat shelves like and actual closet not like a shoe shrank.

Where? What do they look like, can you find a pic on google?

CMS --- 11 years ago -

I have a bookcase in the spare room with lots of shelves to store my shoes in.

anne --- 11 years ago -

im kinda lucky i guess i have mine in a nice covered big basket. but then i dont have a lot of shoes so storage isnt a issue for me .lol but i have seen some nice shoe storage at ikea and globus.

Mojo --- 11 years ago -

I'd get the shoe shelves, but I use the shoe boxes that store like 12 pairs and slide under the bed.

Melinda --- 11 years ago -

Some ideas.

Melinda --- 11 years ago -

A whole website. lol

nukatie81 --- 11 years ago -

Mad, you can get cheap ones at Poco or maybe nicer ones at Moebel Martin. We bought regular closets @ Ikea and put jackets on one side and shoes on the bottom and the other side had shelves. It worked perfect for shoes or whatever you want to throw in there.

Shoe Hangar

Me and the hubby each have a tote that sits in the "closet" room.... my nicer shoes stay in there boxes. How many shoes are we talking here?

angel2009 --- 11 years ago -

lol I was wondering when that question comes up. I guess that is exactly my problem...toooo many!

I think hubby had the right idea. If that shelving unit will not hold all your shoes, then I hope you are talking about a family of 8 and not just the two of you, lol!!

Shoe Hangar

I've tried those and they are very cheap and don't hold as many as they claim, plus, I don't have that many doors...lol.

Haha, it's just the 2 of us. Well, let me re-phrase that....hubby has about 9 pairs of shoes MAX.

In my defense though, I keep shoes a long time because I am not hard on them and I can't throw a pair of shoes out until they are totally worn out OR hurting my feet. I have some shoes that I wear solely on special occasions. Those shoes last me YEARS...but they keep accumulating. And to make matters worse, lol, I will be going back to the states for a visit at the end of the year and I will be clearing both my storage units (one on the east coast and one on the west coast) which has more shoes in them.....hahaha! And to make matters EVEN WORSE than the previous statement....I will be in the states during Black Friday! I have not been to the states during black Friday in at least 8 years....

Discount SHOE SHOPPING!!!!

BUT his shoes are HUGE so they do take up a lot of room! ;-p

When they ran Imelda out of her palace, they found 2,700 pair of size 8 1/2's. I wonder what she used for storage?

MAD4EUROPE --- 11 years ago -

Are you trying to compare me to a corrupt and evil political figure because of my shoes?

WOW

Cara fanciulla --- 11 years ago -

:) No, you never insinuated that you had anywhere near that number! I wonder how many pair Evita Peron owned?

Cara fanciulla --- 11 years ago -

Pirmasens used to be shoe heaven when all the factories were open. Semi-annual outlet sales.

Ms Asia --- 11 years ago -

Ms. Cara, Imelda had a big, big room (bigger than most houses here) which they called a mini department store, (Rustan's I believe) And to be exact, she had 5,000 pairs of shoes. And what is not known is that those shoes were just accessories made to match her thousands of gowns, dresses, suits... So, can you imagine how big the room was???

I ran out of space in my cabinet...
I am using this interlocking storage called magic drawers... I want to buy more, but I can't find them anymore... So anyone of you who knows where I can get them... Please let me know!

Cara fanciulla --- 11 years ago -

Not wearing the same pair of shoes every 14 years.. how many times would they have come in and out of fashion?!

I am having a hard time posting the picture!! How do you do it? I followed your instruction M4E :(

Cara fanciulla --- 11 years ago -

Someone should add the vids to Kirsty MacColl's "In These Shoes" or (sadly) Amy's ode to FMP's...
