Tragically, reminds me a lot of LA so many years ago. Hopefully things will calm down and issues will get addressed. Right now it's looking to be a free-for-all for rioters and looters in neighborhoods that are already depressed and will only suffer in the long run. Last year when the activities took place in Westminster, there was no hesitation in banging some heads around. Judging from the news reports, the average age of the current protestors is fairly young. Not a good lead-up to the Olympics.

it is all very alarming

I need to read more news reports then 'pick what to believe' since every report gives a tiny different spin on things

At least since it is protesting the people can SAY why they are protesting and hopefully that part is believable, not just that they decided to join the mob

But I just heard a news story about the residents 'tweeting'? one another, and first thing this morning they had organized neighborhood cleanup crews hitting the streets.

"Big riots in the United Kingdom. You can tell it's England because they're rioting on the other side of the street." -Jay Leno

I think it is silly of them to be doing so much law-breaking when there are cameras everywhere!

At least in Westminster, you are under constant camera surveillance. I exchanged dollars to pounds (ouch, did that hurt!) near Victoria Station one morning. I walked back in the direction of the Abbey and recounted my bills before putting them away. As I passed across from New Scotland Yard about three blocks up , a uniformed Bobby approached and politely told me that it was a bad idea to flash money anywhere in the city because of pickpockets. They had spotted my stupid mistake on camera.
The point - all the hooligan action probably has been recorded. You'll notice many have hoods and faces are covered.

I personally feel like you lOse all credibility about what ever cause you are rioting about when you start looting and destroying things. It basically makes you look like a big, pissed off toddler.

There are plenty of ways to protest without resorting to violence and destruction of that magnitude. I felt the same about the riots in LA, too.

Yep, what Mojo said

I think it's silly and whatever cause the riots started for is no longer the reason they're still going on.

There is no cause in the world that justifies you stealing PS3s and Air Jordans and smashing innocent peoples homes and businesses.

Nothing, does it affect you directly? It does not affect me directly, but i must say that it is but another bad in the current environment.
