Tragically, reminds me a lot of LA so many years ago. Hopefully things will calm down and issues will get addressed. Right now it's looking to be a free-for-all for rioters and looters in neighborhoods that are already depressed and will only suffer in the long run. Last year when the activities took place in Westminster, there was no hesitation in banging some heads around. Judging from the news reports, the average age of the current protestors is fairly young. Not a good lead-up to the Olympics.
theeres always something going on and london just happens to be in the news right now. i must say though england is not doing great right now and im going back for a vist on sat and so hope things quiet down but i doubt it. im just goner be glad when and if the police get it sorted. thats if they are even allowed too.
At least in Westminster, you are under constant camera surveillance. I exchanged dollars to pounds (ouch, did that hurt!) near Victoria Station one morning. I walked back in the direction of the Abbey and recounted my bills before putting them away. As I passed across from New Scotland Yard about three blocks up , a uniformed Bobby approached and politely told me that it was a bad idea to flash money anywhere in the city because of pickpockets. They had spotted my stupid mistake on camera. The point - all the hooligan action probably has been recorded. You'll notice many have hoods and faces are covered.
