So they put out a notice that they may be closed on Saturday. Does this mean they may be closed for the length of the furlough?

I know... I mean, I know it wouldn't be the end of the world, since there are other places to get food, but it would still be bad. 

I'm pretty sure the commissary will be closed for the duration of the shut down, if it happens, because DECA is funded by the government. If they are going to close tomorrow, they will stay open until 10pm tonight to accomodate the masses who will be rushing to the commissary today. I got this info from the Ramstein AB facebook page, so check there for more updates. 

Yeah, I saw that... Wow, can you imagine how quickly the shelves of the shoppette will empty out? 

My husband just got back from the commissary, and said they restocked their shelves,and there was no rush, hardly anybody there.

Did you all know that the Commissary use to be ran by troops? Thats right it was an actual AFSC/MOS... We're talking butcher, stocker, cakes and all... There was talk of having the troops work the sheleves until this is over... Crazy times for sure... 

You can get hamburger meat off base. It's called hackfleisch and will say rind on it, which means beef. We don't eat steaks so I don't know about the ribeyes. 

You can get hamburger meat and ribeyes at the Aldi- which I personally think taste better. 

Kaufland has pretty good meat :)

please check with the family support services on base, maybe someone who has extra WIC coupons can share, seems everyone always has too much of many of the WIC items

formula is another story, but again, maybe someone who has some leftover

milk is 49eurocents off base

i heard that they are planning on still going into tomorrow as i heard that from the ppl who work in the bakery and meat section of the commisary. i guess we will see . so long as i have my milk im good and i stocked up. this british/irish girl needs her tea lol
